If you love doing an activity i.e, you pursue it as a hobby or whatever, chances are others enjoy doing it too. This may at first mean that there's an opportunity for you to build a career around it by practicing it professionally. But there are a couple of caveats here:

  1. You need to be really good, often the best, at whatever it is you're pursuing. This is for the simple reason that others are doing it too, and as such there's potentially fierce competition. The only way to survive is to be the best; the rewards fall along a steep slope from the best to the second best and so on.
  2. You risk endangering your love. This is because of the new professional demands of the activity due to which the activity might become exhausting, boring and all about money. And you don't want to pollute your love anyway, besides risking burnout.

At this point, you may want to know about another thing called passion- having which can help to justify the hardships along the way, because having a passion means you're fueled by a sense of cause, mission or purpose.

Watch the next lecture to find out more insights and distinctions between passion and love that you can't afford to miss. And then decide which one would you rather go with, if you were to choose one of the two.

Just make sure that if you use this approach of choosing between passion and love, you keep the above-mentioned caveats in mind.

Best of luck!
